Folate, folacin, folic acid, vitamin B9 and vitamin B11 are the common names for only one vitamin of the B-Complex group. Although these names are frequently used, the only official name is folic acid. It is one of the vitamin B complex group that is said to aid in in the production of nucleic acids in the synthesis of DNA and RNA. Folic acid has been known to aid in regulating embryonic and fetal development of nerve cells and can therefore aid in normal growth and development.
Research has shown that folic acid, in combination with B6 and B12, may help to reduce homocysteine levels. Vitamin B12 and B6 take part in the VitaMist® Folacin complex. Frenquently used, Folacin can improve your energy and wellbeing levels.
Folic acid deficiency is the most common vitamin deficiency in the world, and can lead to congenital malformations and possible mental retardation in babies. A significantly high percentage of women between the ages of 25-40 have low levels of folate. Deficiencies are often associated with use of an oral contraceptive, poor eating habits, drug or alcohol abuse, cigarette smoking and stringent dieting. If you're 25 years or older, and you're not getting 150 to 280 micrograms of folate each day, (400 for pregnant women) this is the spray for you!
